Stumps Vs Channel Markers

Donovan suddenly yelled to Millar that the anchor line was free and back in its rightful place.

Elated they radioed the Coast Guard and informed them of their decision to continue on to Larry's River.

They realized that if they were going to make it they would have to rely on visual ability  and do things "by the book"  They set out.

As they approached Larry's River and being unfamiliar with the area, what they thought was a clump of trees sticking out of the water at the mouth of cove was in fact channel markers.  They erroneously assumed it was shallow water so they steered clear.  Fortunately a fisherman yelling and waving to them alerted Millar to his error and he made a hard left barely making it between a small row of stumps.

At low tide  they saw  just how lucky they'd been . They'd been headed for a wall of granite rocks that would have destroyed the hull on the Sea Cat.       Hi-Tech Jumps Ship
